Fresh Wood Book Featuring Student Design Finalists

Benefits WoodLINKS, USA

COMMERCE, CA÷At the 2003 AWFS®Fair, Fresh Wood, a new book featuring the furniture of the student design finalists was introduced. Forty percent of the net proceeds of the book will benefit WoodLINKS, USA.

The coffee table book will have over 100 richly detailed photographs and in-depth information on each of the finalists featured in the contest. Interviews with judges, students, teachers and master craftsman Sam Maloof will also be highlighted.

The book is being produced with permission from the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers®. Each book sold will produce a donation to WoodLINKS, USA, and when basic costs are recovered, WoodLINKS USA will receive 40% of the sales cost.

"We are very excited about the Fresh Wood Project," said Larry Hilchie, of the Weinig Group, who is 2003 president of WoodLINKS, USA and member of the AWFS® Board of Directors. "This book showcases the fantastic work of these students throughout the country, and supports woodworking education at the same time. AWFS®Fair attendees can take a piece of the Fair home and exhibiting companies can make special orders for holiday gifts to alert their customers to the vitality of a next generation of designers and woodworkers in our industry. Everyone wins."
