Congressman Honda Calls For Comprehensive
Manufacturing Strategy
In an op-ed in The Hill Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA) wrote that National Manufacturing Day allowed Americans to reflect on how a renaissance in the manufacturing is essential for a recovery of the US economic. Rep. Honda wrote that the US needs a comprehensive manufacturing strategy. According to the Congressman, the strategy would “make it easier and more affordable to obtain financing for plants, equipment and infrastructure; facilitate sophisticated, integrated worker training; enact a competitive immigration policy that helps us re-shore jobs” and renew the nation’s “commitment to the transportation infrastructure that supports our domestic supply chain,” among other things.
