In a press release, the National Association of Manufacturers (10/15) announced the Supreme Court said it would accept the National Association of Manufacturers and other associations’ petition challenging the Environmental Protection Agency’s regulation of greenhouse gases.
The Hill (10/15, Geman) “E2 Wire” blog reported Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, said, “Manufacturers are pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision to review the EPA’s greenhouse gas regulations from stationary sources — one of the most costly, complex and harmful regulatory issues facing manufacturers and threatening our global competitiveness.” Oral arguments in the case are expected to take place in early 2014.
A handful of industry groups petitioned the court to hear the case, among them the American Petroleum Institute, the American Chemistry Council and the National Association of Manufacturers.
