That type of exposure during America’s top sporting spectacle would have been “game-changing,” said Erin True, Urban Wood Goods co-owner, in a statement. “We’re  different from other furniture manufacturers in that we salvage all of  the lumber use to make our furniture,” she said. “It’s got a history,  and it has quite a lot of character. It had a former life before we  turned it into furniture.”

Although the reclaimed wood furniture company did not make it to the final four round, it was recently featured in Entrepreneur magazine discussing the challenges of shipping large products and making sure customers understand what that entails.

Launched in 2010 by husband and wife team, Erin and Jason True, Urban Wood Goods offers furniture –tables, benches, desks, vanities, stools and more, as well as custom and to-spec pieces — crafted from old-growth wood of buildings and barns in Illinois and Wisconsin.
