Stimulus Package Update from AWFS Partner LobbyIt

Here is an update as of 4/2/20 from AWFS’ advocacy agency LobbyIt:

LobbyIt is closely monitoring the developments of the stimulus package and implementation. The implementation stage is under way and some additional guidance has come out from the agencies –

Paid leave guidance

Employee Retention Credit

Paycheck Protection Program

Additionally, Congress is already discussing what should be included in the next round of stimulus. One of the proposals that has come up again is SALT. The proposal has been suggested by Speaker Pelosi, which means that it has a serious chance to make it into the Democrats version of the bill, even though it will face stiff opposition from many Republicans. However, if there was ever a chance for SALT to be reinstated and even potentially put in place retroactively, the current series of stimulus packages is it.
