The AWFS® 2021 Virtual DC Fly-In will take place Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25. The agenda will run approximately 4-6 hours each day and will consist of hill appointments with your legislative representatives (an official agenda will be provided soon).
The focus of our advocacy messaging is workforce development and legislation or specific asks related to work-based learning, workforce training, apprenticeships, internships, or other ways to strengthen industry education and the future of skilled talent in our industry.
Schedule your congressional appointments for you
Provide all needed training and preparation information and materials
Host a training session 1 week prior to the fly-in
Provide communication materials (i.e. “leave-behinds”, follow up message templates, etc.)
Attend the training session and review the training information in advance
Participate as part of a small group during the congressional appointments
Send follow-up e-mails to the offices after your appointments (one person per group per meeting, or group members can divvy up responsibilities)
