As we move into the fourth quarter of 2022, our industry anticipates a strong finish to another strong year. Customers once again plan to take advantage of the section 179 tax incentives. It’s also a political season. With midterm elections days away, be sure to take the time to vote. Both parties are looking to take over seats in the House and Senate with some key issues at stake. Let your voice be heard at the polls. It’s our privilege and responsibility.
It was great seeing all the attendees and exhibitors during IWF at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA this August. It was nice having our industry back together with the ability to show new technology in-person. Our industry is fortunate 2022 was another great year and we look forward to the start of 2023.
Several economists are predicting a moderate recession in 2023, and the stock market has been adjusting to the latest economic reports. Hopefully, these negative reports don’t cause more damage to an already volatile market. At the same time, the war in Ukraine continues to unfold. Let’s all hope for a resolution soon.
On a positive note, the AWFS® staff and its committees have been busy preparing for our show coming in July of 2023. Booth sales are strong. Companies are looking forward to coming back to the Las Vegas Convention Center after some sat out 2021 due to COVID. (If you have not signed up for your space, make sure to reach out to Amy Bartz at amy@awfs.org. You can see availability on the AWFS®Fair website under Exhibit 2023 / Floor Plan.) The 2023 AWFS®Fair will have a strong focus on education with seminars offered through the College of Woodworking Knowledge (CWWK). Whether you’d like to stay informed of new technology or attract skilled workers, CWWK has a session for you.
As we wrap up business for 2022, be sure to take the time to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends. Wishing you and your families a Happy Holidays from all of us at AWFS!
