SUMMARY: This position works directly with the Customer Service Manager to ensure that the needs of customers are met through designing and estimating customers’ orders. The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) is directly responsible for maintaining States Drawer Box Specialties’ relationship with customers and managing customers’ orders, from design, costing, build of material to delivery, throughout States’ order fulfillment process. The TSR is familiar and competent with the concepts of value-added selling and actively assists area managers in increasing business with existing customers by identifying opportunities for selling additional Drawer Box Specialties (DBS) products and services. The TSR will utilize Cabinet Vision to create project plans for the CNC work centers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The States Drawer Box Specialties TSR follows corporate policies and procedures and fulfills the following responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Work closely with clients to receive designs and program them into the Cabinet Vision software for kitchens, bathrooms, closet creation.
  • Create quote /orders based on design requirements
  • Accurately check designs and quote / order details
  • Discuss product details and expectations
  • Work together with CNC operators to ensure product quality and proper job execution
  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Supply management with written and/or oral report on customer needs, problems, interest, competitive activities and potential new products and services
  • Perform other duties as assigned

NECESSARY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

  • Ability to read blue prints and field measure
  • Handle client product questions and walk them through the quote /order process
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Consultative Sales skills
  • Strong Communicator
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and often independent work environment
  • Analyzing data and situations accurately with a strong attention to detail in order to develop the proper course of action needed to be taken
  • Efficient problem-solving
  • Time management, organization and written communication

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent education (preferred but not required).
  • Two years experience working with new and established customer accounts in a sales capacity.
  • Experience with Cabinet Vision and 20/20 Design software is preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
  • Cabinet, kitchen and bath design.
  • Construction/Design Sales Experience.
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
