In October, 2020, AWFS and the Society of Wood Manufacturing (AWFS’ Southern California chapter), produced a video showcasing a local wood manufacturing company. The purpose of the video was to introduce students and job seekers to common roles and career pathways and see what a real and current wood facility looks like. The video features Architectural Woodworking Company (AWC), located in Los Angeles and serving high-end commercial clients in downtown Los Angeles and throughout the region:
Video is critical to our message and efforts to introduce our industry and career opportunities to young people. Short of bringing them to facilities in person, which certainly has been impossible in recent days, video is arguably the most effective way to show them what TODAY’s wood manufacturing industry looks like and highlight the careers, skills, and roles that are needed. Beyond the impact video can have directly for students and job seekers, video can be a powerful tool to communicate with educators, school counselors, parents and others who help students consider careers, and legislators.
If so, please share them with us and we would love to highlight them on our YouTube channel!
