AWFS Calls for Proposals for 2015 Education Program

The 2015 AWFS Fair show cycle is well under way and the Call for Proposals for the show’s education program has officially begun.

The “College of Woodworking Knowledge” (CWWK) invites technical experts, exhibitors with an educational segment, business owners and managers, consultants and other wood products manufacturing professionals to submit proposal ideas for seminars to be held throughout the days of the 2015 show (July 22-25). Seminars are presented in a variety of time slots ranging from one and a half hours to all day trainings. The program includes classroom-style presentations, panels, demos and the SMART (Special Machinery and Relevant Technology) seminars—the technical programs conducted on the show floor early in the morning before the show opens.

The CWWK will include the following educational tracks: Business Management, Cabinet/Millwork, Furniture, Small Shops Ten and Under, Software & Technology, Techniques & Applications, Safety & Environment and Teacher Track.

AWFS 2013 attendees have expressed particular interest in project management, estimating, finances for small businesses, software topics, new machine and finishing technologies, employee management, leadership and the next generation of workers.
