Exciting and unique position with a startup manufacturing facility for a toy and children’s furniture company.
Growing children’s brand is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Connecticut and is seeking an
experienced woodworker/carpenter to join their small team. This is a dynamic role for someone with a strong
entrepreneurial spirit who will help to build their current offerings and be an integral part of the prototyping
and development process for new designs. This is a full-time position. Details of the job below.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in high-end custom wood furniture or other woodworking
in a professional capacity (i.e. carpentry/cabinetmaking/commercial or residential millwork)
• Mastery of shop equipment, including table saws, routers, sanders, power tools, and hand tools
• Proficiency of techniques, skills, and processes involved in woodworking, fabrication and finishing (spray
finish experience strongly encouraged)
• Strong knowledge in wood, particularly maple and Baltic birch plywood
• Works well in a team environment to achieve a common goal
• Excellent problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail
• Willingness to jump in at all levels of production, from unpacking raw materials all the way through to
packing up finished products for shipping, so a flexible nature is a must!
Job Details:
• Collaborate with our team on prototypes and new designs
• Produce high-quality level of wooden products, with a strong attention to detail and finish
• Maintains strong knowledge of in-line assembly processes, systems, and tools
• Use material efficiently and develop practices to limit waste
• Participate in tasks large and small to help keep the facility running smoothly
• This role reports to the Operations Manager
Not Required, but Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with laser engraving and CNC machines
• Existing relationships with Connecticut furniture makers and manufacturers
• Knowledge of children’s toy and furniture safety standards and guidelines
